MACOHA has a Women and Children’s section which overseas implementation of interventions targeting women and children with disabilities. The section was deliberately put in place because it was discovered that:
- Women and children with disabilities were being sidelined in their communities.
- Parents and spouses of persons with disabilities spend most of their time on disabled family members, this led to more vulnerability on their part.
- Need for deliberately effort to address their issues (positive discrimination)
- Hence Women and Children Section was put in place to take up issues of the beneficiaries with relevant authorities.
